Stephen Remick lives in Dartmouth, MA and maintains a studio in New Bedford. Stephen received a BFA in Painting from Swain School of Design in 1986 and an Associate Degree in Architecture from Vermont Technical College in 1981.  Stephens paintings are based on landscape color and forms, skirting the boundary between abstraction and representation. Some are inspired by the poetry of Robert Frost including a stone wall series. Newer work includes observed scenes as opposed to earlier paintings which were culled from remembered feelings and places.

"My goal is to take a sincere, honest look at the surroundings and actions in my life and translate them through vernacular imagery that can be understood and appreciated universally."
