My work presently is made with watercolor paints, crayons, and pencils on sized watercolor paper. I work spontaneously and intuitively. There isn’t a preconceived idea of results but more of a reaction to what I’m watching between pigment and water. The shapes and relationships that come out of my observations and reactions tend to be organically based and abstract. The balancing of energy through movement is central to my work. Because of my performance background as an actor, my work feels the most alive when I’m making it. The paintings I make feel like a improvisational collaboration between myself and the materials.
